Faith
The Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) holds the Bible as the infallible, inspired Word of God and primary authority. Their faith is defined by three Ecumenical Creeds, the 1580 Book of Concord (Lutheran Confessions), (Apostles', Nicene, Athanasian) and a summary document called This We Believe. WELS emphasizes justification by grace alone through faith in Jesus. We believe that the Bible is the final authority in all matters of doctrine, that it is fully inspired by God and without error. The three ecumenical creeds, the primary creedal statements of historic Christianity, summarize well our faith. In addition, we wholeheartedly subscribe to the Lutheran Confessions (contained in the Book of Concord of 1580) because they are correct expositions of biblical truth. In essence, the Bible, the creeds, and the Lutheran Confessions all speak the same truth: we are declared to be right with God by his grace alone through faith in Jesus.
Prayer
Prayer is our direct connection with God. It is where we speak to Him with honesty, gratitude, and trust. Through prayer, we seek His guidance, find peace in times, and grow closer to His presence each day. The Bible and Lutherans teach that believers pray. In the name of Jesus, that is, trusting in his salvation, a believer confidently speaks to God. We present to God our needs, praising him, thanking him, or interceding for others. Christians pray because God commands us to pray and promises to answer our prayers. Sometimes his answer is yes, sometimes no. Sometimes God waits until the time is right to answer our prayers. Psalm 19:14; Psalm 50:15; Matthew 7:7; Matthew 21:22; John 16:23; 1 Timothy 2:1; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Ephesians 6:18; 1 Timothy 2:8
Church
The Bible and Lutherans teach that there is one holy, Christian Church. It is made up of all who believe in Jesus. Since faith is a matter of the heart it is invisible. Only God knows who has faith and therefore is a member of the Holy, Christian Church. This invisible church is found wherever the gospel is proclaimed. We call groups of people who come together to hear God’s Word the visible church. Religious association is to be practiced only with those who faithfully adhere to all of God’s Word.
Love
Love is the heart of the Christian life. It is the selfless, sacrificial care that comes from God and is shown through Jesus Christ. True love is patient, kind, and enduring—it seeks the good of others and reflects God’s nature in our daily lives.
Our Vision
Our vision is to see lives transformed through the truth of God’s Word, building a faithful and spiritually mature community of believers. We seek to reach people of all ages and backgrounds with the message of hope, salvation, and love in Jesus Christ, especially in underserved areas. Our desire is to raise a generation that not only understands Scripture but lives it daily, becoming a light in their families, communities, and the world.
Our Mission
Our mission is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through teaching, discipleship, and practical service, building strong and growing communities of faith. We aim to provide biblical education, support home-based churches, guide children through learning programs, and serve through outreach efforts. Our goal is to equip believers to grow in faith and character, so they can live out God’s Word and impact their families, communities, and the world.
