Under the guidance of Mrs. Noreen Salmon, 35 children between the ages of 4 and 14 gather regularly to hear God’s Word, sing songs, pray, and participate in engaging Bible-based learning activities. Children are taught the truths of the Holy Bible through Bible stories, memory verses, songs, prayer, and creative activities. They learn about God’s creation, Jesus’ love and forgiveness, prayer, Christian living, and showing kindness to others. Our Sunday school follows a structured syllabus of 18 green booklets, guiding children step by step through important Bible teachings. Additionally, seasonal Bible stories are included during Christmas, Easter, and other church celebrations, helping children understand the life and work of Jesus throughout the year. Children are encouraged to develop good church habits such as praying, listening attentively to God’s Word, participating in worship, and bringing a small offering as an expression of gratitude to God. Our goal is to help children grow in faith, love, and knowledge of the Gospel so they always remember: “Jesus loves me, and I belong to Him.” Lutheran Teaching About Children In the Lutheran Church, children are valued as precious members of God’s family. Through hearing God’s Word, the Holy Spirit creates and strengthens faith even in young hearts, making early instruction in Scripture essential. Jesus said: “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”Mark 10:14 The reformer Martin Luther emphasized the importance of teaching children God’s Word, reminding parents and teachers of their sacred responsibility to guide children in Scripture so they may grow strong in faith and remain rooted in Christ.
