Under the guidance of Ms. Azika Ashir, 50 children between the ages of 4 and 14 gather regularly to hear God’s Word, sing songs, pray, and participate in meaningful learning activities. In our Sunday school, children are taught the truths of the Holy Bible through Bible stories, songs, memory verses, prayer, and creative activities. They learn about God’s creation, the love of Jesus Christ, forgiveness of sins, prayer, kindness, and Christian living. We follow a structured Sunday School syllabus consisting of 18 green booklets designed to teach the Bible in a clear and systematic way. Through this course, children study important Bible stories and learn the message of God’s Word step by step. In addition, seasonal Bible stories are taught during special church seasons such as Christmas, Easter, and other important occasions, helping children understand the life and work of Jesus Christ throughout the year. Children are also encouraged to develop good church habits such as praying, listening to God’s Word, participating in worship, and bringing a small offering as an expression of gratitude to God. Our goal is to help every child grow in faith, love, and knowledge of the Gospel so that they may always remember this wonderful truth: “Jesus loves me, and I belong to Him.” Lutheran Teaching About Children In the Lutheran Church, we believe that children are precious in God’s sight and are included in His grace. Through the hearing of God’s Word, the Holy Spirit works faith even in young hearts. Therefore, teaching children the Bible from an early age is an important part of the church’s mission. As Jesus said: “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”(Mark 10:14) The reformer Martin Luther emphasized the importance of teaching children the Word of God. He wrote that parents and teachers must faithfully instruct children in Scripture so they may grow in faith and remain strong in Christ. Through Sunday school ministry, the church continues this calling by helping children learn the Bible, understand the Gospel, and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
